Microsoft Clipart was a collection of images, graphics, and illustrations that were pre-installed in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel. It was a popular resource for users who needed to add visual elements to their documents, presentations, or spreadsheets.

Microsoft Clipart was discontinued in 2014, and the company has since replaced it with a new service called Microsoft 365 Icons. This service includes a library of icons and symbols that can be used in Office applications.

There are several alternatives to Microsoft Clipart that users can consider. One popular option is Shutterstock, which offers a vast collection of high-quality images and illustrations that can be licensed for use.

SlideModel offers a variety of templates and graphics, including charts, diagrams, timeline templates, process flows, and more. The website also provides a range of free and paid options, making it accessible to users with different budgets. In addition to the alternatives mentioned above, there are also new ways to generate images using artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI. These technologies have opened up new possibilities for creating custom images and graphics that are unique and tailored to specific needs.

Generative AI is a type of AI that can create new content, such as images or graphics, based on a set of rules or parameters and a prompt. This technology can be used to generate custom graphics, logos, or other visual elements that are unique to a particular brand or project.

There are also several tools available that use AI to generate images and graphics. One of these is called Deep Dream Generator, which uses generative AI to create surreal and abstract images based on user input.

AI and generative AI offer exciting new possibilities for creating custom images and graphics. As these technologies continue to develop, we can expect to see even more innovative ways to generate and enhance visual content.

While Microsoft Clipart is no longer available, there are many alternatives available that can help users add visual elements to their documents, presentations, and other projects.

How the Microsoft Clipart interface looked alike?

Here are some screenshots taken from the Microsoft Clipart gallery, when it existed.

On Office.com, one could browse the different cliparts available and download them for their presentations. You could also scroll to the bottom and search by category. At the top of the screen you’ll also notice there are templates available for download.

Once we type in the general subject we’re looking, search through the pictures for a piece you’d like to use and simply click Download.

A download prompt will pop up for you to confirm your download. Be sure to save the picture where you can find it and insert it into your project or document once you return to PowerPoint, Word, or whatever program you’re using.

The second method is also the quickest. With the Clip Art search box open in the Microsoft program you’re using, check the box next to Include Office.com content and perform your search as normal. This will show Clip Art that is available online in your Clip Art Gallery.

Once your desired Clip Art is found click on it and it will be a part of the project.

In conclusion, Microsoft Clipart was a popular resource for users who needed to add visual elements to their documents, presentations, or spreadsheets. However, it was discontinued in 2014 and replaced with a new service called Microsoft 365 Icons.

There are several alternatives to Microsoft Clipart that users can consider, including Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Canva, Unsplash, and SlideModel. These alternatives offer a wide range of high-quality images, graphics, and illustrations that can be used to enhance presentations, documents, and other projects.

While Microsoft Clipart is no longer available, users can still find many options to help them create professional-looking projects. By exploring these alternatives, users can find the right resources to meet their needs and take their projects to the next level.
