There are a number of websites which do offer free images but many of them have strings attached, such as the inability of the user to use the images for commercial use. I discovered Unsplash a while back and signed up for receiving periodic emails with high-quality royalty free images. I must say, I wasn’t disappointed. Unsplash is one of the best websites for downloading high-quality royalty free stock photos which can be used in personal and professional projects without the need for attribution. In other words, the images offered by Unsplash have no strings attached whatsoever. You can also search photos and browse through libraries of individual photographers to download photos that best suit your needs.
Death To Stock Photo
This is another diamond in the rough. Death To Stock Photo sends an email with a bundle of stock images to subscribers every few days. The photos are tied to a specific category. If you require stock images for your projects frequently, we would recommend that you sign up for receiving free photos via email. DTSP has its own license, which has some clauses that don’t allow end users to redistribute images or use them for unethical means. Apart from that you are free to use DTSP images for personal and commercial use.
Pic Jumbo
Pic Jumbo is another website which allows downloading free stock images for commercial use. You can either use the search bar or browse images via categories. Pic Jumbo has various categories ranging from people, nature, food, business to abstract, skyscrapers, technology, etc. It is advised to read the FAQs before using images in your projects as Pic Jumbo encourages attribution in case you wish to include their stock images in commercial projects.
It is also worth mentioning here that Pic Jumbo also has premium photo collections which can be downloaded with a premium account.

Moose is a stock photo site created by Icons8, a design assets company.
